Winter Recreation Soccer Program
General
Information:
-
900+ boys
and girls from Pre-K-5th Grade. Players must be 4+ years old
by the start of each session.
-
Three
6-week sessions. November-December, January-February and February-March.
-
Saturdays,
for one hour, at the Plymouth Creek Center Soccer Dome-turf field.
-
Cost is
$75 per 6-week session. $200 if registered for all 3 sessions
initially.
-
Skills
training for 25 minutes, followed by age-appropriate small-sided soccer
games.
-
Teams are
age-appropriate. Players are registered for the grade they are CURRENTLY in.

Registration:
-
PSA
uses online registration for all its programs.
To
register, please go to the PSA website (www.plymouthsoccer.com)
and click on the “2009/2010 Winter Recreation Soccer Program”
registration link and follow the instructions.

Winter program registration will start on September 21st and
continue throughout the program
-
Late
registrations for each session are accepted on an as-available basis
only-no guarantee of placement on a team

Register your child for the grade they are CURRENTLY in
Coaches:
-
PSA
relies totally on volunteer coaches for the teams
-
The PSA website (www.plymouthsoccer.com)
has a variety of Coach Education materials to assist you in coaching the
team

Coaches are expected to review the weekly training materials for use in
the following week’s session
Team
Formation:
-
Registration is based on the grade the child is
CURRENTLY
in.
-
Teams
will be formed primarily by grade and school
-
PSA will create teams for Pre-K through 5th Grade.
-
Teams will be
gender and grade specific if registration numbers allow.
-
We will try to
honor “play-with” requests, but cannot guarantee it. Both players must
request to “play-with” each other at registration
Equipment:
-
Shin
guards are MANDATORY for ALL players and
MUST be completely
covered by their socks.
-
Players should wear soccer shorts, although sweatpants may be worn.
-
Soccer shoes (no toe-cleats) are recommended, but tennis shoes may be
worn
-
T-shirts will be provided and should be worn for all sessions attended
-
Please bring enough water/sport drink, in an appropriate/safe container,
to all sessions
-
Safety: A player must not use equipment or wear anything that is
dangerous to themselves or another player. If the child wears glasses,
they should be secured with a head-band.
Balls:
-
All
players should bring a fully-inflated ball to each session
-
Pre-K-2nd Grade use a size 3 ball

3rd-5th
Grade use a size 4 ball
